Tabori Preis 2022 Moderation

Am 25. Mai 2022 verlieh der Fonds Darstellende Künste zum 13. Mal den Tabori Preis, die bundesweit höchste Auszeichnung für die Freien Darstellenden Künste. Die Preisjury zur Vergabe des Tabori Preises und der Tabori Auszeichnungen bestand in diesem Jahr aus Martina Grohmann (Intendantin Theater Rampe | Kuratoriumsvorsitzende des Fonds), Bettina Masuch (Leiterin tanzhaus nrw), Ilka Schmalbauch (Deutscher Bühnenverein, Vorstandsmitglied des Fonds), Carena Schlewitt (Intendantin HELLERAU – Europäisches Zentrum für die Künste, stellvertretende Kuratoriumsvorsitzende des Fonds), Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Schneider (Universität Hildesheim, Vorstandsvorsitzender des Fonds) und Holger Bergmann (Fonds Darstellende Künste, beratend). Die Jury wählte dabei die Gewinner*innen aus allen Produktionen von Gruppen und Künstler*innen aus, die in den vergangenen 5 Jahren vom Fonds Darstellende Künste ausgewählt und gefördert wurden.

Mit dem Tabori Preis ehrt diese Fachjury damit eine kontinuierliche künstlerische Arbeit mit hoher bundesweiter und internationaler Ausstrahlung, die zudem inhaltlich relevant, und in Format oder ästhetischer Handschrift wegbereitend war und ist.
Der Preis ist mit 25.000 Euro, die zwei Auszeichnungen sind mit je 15.000 Euro dotiert. Mit den Auszeichnungen honoriert die Jury experimentelle Formate von Künstler*innen und Gruppen, die durch ein bedeutendes Upcoming oder durch kontinuierliche Entwicklungen eines eigenständigen ästhetischen Formates überzeugt haben.

2022 vergab der Fonds zudem erstmalig eine dritte internationale Auszeichnung an frei produzierende international agierende und tourende Künstler*innen(-gruppen), die durch eine herausragende Ästhetik und engagierte inhaltliche Arbeiten überzeugen. Die Tabori Auszeichnung international ist ebenfalls mit 15.000 Euro dotiert und wurde von einer internationalen Fachjury bestehend aus Philippe Bischof (Pro Helvetia | Zürich), Dr. Asma Diakité (Goethe Institut | Johannesburg), Marta Keil (Kuratorin, Wissenschaftlerin | Warschau, Utrecht) vergeben.

On May 25, 2022, the Fonds Darstellende Künste awarded the Tabori Prize, the nation’s highest honor for the independent performing arts, for the 13th time. This year, the jury for the Tabori Prize and the Tabori Awards consisted of Bettina Masuch (Director of tanzhaus nrw), Martina Grohmann (artistic director of Theater Rampe | Chair of the Fonds Darstellende Künste Board of Trustees), Carena Schlewitt (Artistic Director of HELLERAU – European Center for the Arts, Deputy Chair of the Fonds’ Board of Trustees), Ilka Schmalbauch (German Stage Association, board member of the Fonds), Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Schneider (University of Hildesheim, Chairman of the Board of the Fonds Darstellende Künste), and Holger Bergmann (Managing Director of the Fonds Darstellende Künste, advisory). The jury selected the winners from all productions by groups and artists that have been selected and supported by the Fonds Darstellende Künste in the past 5 years.

With the Tabori Prize, this jury of experts thus honors a continuous artistic work with a high national and international impact, which was and is also relevant in terms of content and pioneering in terms of format or aesthetic style.
The prize is endowed with 25,000 euros, the two awards with 15,000 euros each. With the awards, the jury honors experimental formats by artists and groups that have impressed with a significant upcoming or continuous development of an independent aesthetic format.

In 2022, for the first time, the Fund also presented a third international award to internationally active and touring artists (groups) who convince through outstanding aesthetics and committed content-related work. The Tabori Award international is also endowed with 15,000 euros and is awarded by an international jury of experts consisting of Philippe Bischof (Pro Helvetia | Zurich), Dr. Asma Diakité (Goethe Institut | Johannesburg), and Marta Keil (curator, researcher | Warsaw, Utrecht).
