EMERSION is a boundary-shattering live performance that fuses techno beats, opera vocals and immersive real-time visuals into an associative collage exploring emergence, revelation and queer-feminist urban utopias. Under the ritual guidance of drag queen and composer Shlomi Moto Wagner—aka Mazy Mazeltov—the evening unfolds as a celebration of transformation, where every shift in sound and image reveals what was once hidden and points toward new possibilities for community and coexistence.

Phil Hagen Jungschläger’s reactive visualisations translate live audio and movement into mesmerizing depictions of geological landmasses rising, melting ice fields and the interplay of urban architecture with natural landscapes. Petra Schnakenberg’s set design weaves industrial and city-scape motifs into the stage, while boldly styled costumes juxtapose natural body hair with extravagant silhouettes, upending gender conventions.

Shlomi’s original compositions—premiered by members of the Deutsche Oper Berlin—blend classical vocal techniques with pop-inflected melodies, creating operatic rituals that feel both timeless and avant-garde. DJ Lasse Winkler (ACUD) then propels the performance forward, stitching baroque and grand-opera motifs into driving electronic arrangements that pulse in harmony with Josa Kölbel’s choreography. Vejde Grind’s Cyr Wheel becomes both instrument and dance partner, its rotations generating rhythms that merge acrobatics and sound.

The result is a cross-genre spectacle that envelopes all the senses—sound, sight, movement and space—and invites audiences to dive into a shared vision of balance, acceptance and creative renewal. EMERSION doesn’t just ask you to watch; it calls you to emerge, connect and reimagine how we live—and create—together.
